@KateP I don't do word review, multiple choice, and fill in the blank first. I do, Scribe, Speak, and Revo first. I struggle with fill in the blank if I don't do it in that order.

@Cathy Reed Oh, wow, I just had a look and you're all over the leader boards! The only one I show up on at all right now is Speak. It looks like Parrot hasn't been added yet - I should load up my score on that before too many people catch on 😆

@Cathy Reed I also didn't appreciate FITB and MC at first, but then realized that for me what they really do is force me to repeat the lines enough times to get them. For me it is less about the actual target word, but a framework to force me to repeat enough to get the meaning down before starting the other exercises. That said, I have been slacking on those lately.

@KateP It will come with time. I just completed my goal of getting on the all-time board of "fill in the blank". I am now going to cut back on some of the time I was spending on that. Although I feel that "fill in the blank" has been extremely helpful to me in the comprehension of the language. As I am doing "fill in the blank" over and over that are so many moments when I lightbulb comes on, and a realization seems to dawn about the meaning of a sentence, or how to use a phrase. I had discredited "fill in the blank" early on thinking it was not as helpful as the other games, but I just wasn't doing it correctly.

@Cathy Reed do you think maybe if you spent more time doing strategic review and less time doing new videos that might help reach that goal?

@KateP The goal I have been trying to achieve on that circle is to try to beat the amount in the new words category. Currently I have 1,443 points less in the combined 5 categories (learning, learning +, mastering, mastering +, mastered) than the new word category. I hope to exceed the new word category at some point.

@Cathy Reed That is what I mean when I say “Vocabulary”. I know this really means “Yabla Exposed Vocabulary” but I still enjoy it as a metric for how much I have done here. These days for simplicity I tend to mostly watch the mastered number which goes up more slowly for me.

@KateP It did show progress after I played the games in two of the new videos for this week.

@KateP Are you guys talking about the number inside of the big circle? I am happy to have "18" new words on my list, "new", not learning, not learning +, not mastering, not mastering +, and not mastered. I like to know I have the oportunity to master 18 more words in the coming days and weeks.

@calvinm Wow, that's pretty good! I am at 3763 and I've been doing this almost every day a little bit since Yabla started those statistics. Have you ever done one of the free online CEFR tests? I think on both that and the Duolingo thing I'm at a B2 (low B2). Since the vocabulary here is a total number which includes even the new ones I'm not sure if they could calculate the level based just on the total, but at least have to use also your level of mastered words etc. Those would be most likely to be accurate if you started doing Yabla as a beginner so it "knew" all your history. I believe I found the online test by searching something like "Free cefr test without email".
