@KateP I think that really is really the secret, especially when you are listening to a speaker whose dialect is different than those to whom you have grown accustomed to. Your brain has to hear that speaker over and over in order to start picking it up. I am working on one right now that has been particularly difficult for me to master, but I know eventually I will get it.

I enjoyed the zoom meeting this afternoon. I was so nervous about attending. There were many different levels of speaking skills, and I felt more comfortable after seeing that, not so nervous about making errors. They help you with how something should be said if you say it incorrectly, but in a very nice way. The hostess Vanesa was from Argentina. The CEO John Duquette showed up, and there was a guest appearance by Fermín, the commentator of many of our videos, it was like having a star do a cameo on your favorite TV show. I was very happy to have attended. I thought I had recorded it and wanted to go back and look at it to review the errors I had made, but when I opened zoom after lunch I couldn't find it. Did anybody else record it?

In enjoyed the class and shall keep practicing as it helps both your pronunciation and listening to how the words are spoken.

Does anyone else try to keep going each day on Strategic Review until you get at least one Mastered? I find it makes a nice random challenge where sometimes I get it quickly and other times it takes longer (or I give up 😛).

@bodell That's great that you are able to speak for practice! I still feel like my Spanish would torture most listeners. However, every couple of months in my area I do run into someone who tells me they can't speak English at which point I give it a try and usually make it through with moderate success - those days are pretty satisfying 😊

@bodell Yes, it went great. It was definitely good to be prepared by watching the video beforehand. The nice part was seeing where I kind of had a handle on the Spanish vs where I really needed to focus more attention in my studies and practice.

@bodell Good luck on your move! Yes, live conversation is a lot different than working on the screen. See you next time!

@Cathy Reed Great, hope to see you next time! It really is a different experience, on the spot conversing. For some reason I have so much trouble pronouncing the verb "almorzar", it's like I can't get my mouth into the right shape or something. Hopefully that word won't be in the next one!

Thanks ladies for the feedback about live class. that is the part I am missing conversing. When I take a uber and I notice they are latinos I start speaking to them in Spanish and it has been very hepful. I have had some good conversations. Right now where I live thera are lots of cuban uber drivers and also venozolanos which for me are easier to understand. I am in process of moving and on a time line. Hope I can catch next live class.

@BettyBoo I had an awful time trying to get in, my computer is acting up. When I finally got in my camera wasn't working. I am going to try it the next time. I did watch some of it, everybody sounded great.
